IRIS Exchequer would like to extend our congratulations to customer, WEMS International for winning the prestigious MEN Business of the Year award.
Building energy management firm WEMS International, which manufactures wireless systems that remotely monitor and control services including heating and lighting have been IRIS Exchequer customers for 12 years.
Director Ivan McKeever said he anticipated its £12m turnover would double in the next 12 to 24 months, as would its 75-strong Stockport-based workforce.
The award comes as recognition as one of Greater Manchester’s finest firms at the Manchester Evening News Business of the Year Awards on Friday night.
Almost 300 guests from the region’s business community attended a glittering ceremony to honour the winners of the 18th annual awards, which sought to reward excellence in companies across all sizes and sectors.
Hosted by Tony Blair’s former director of communications and strategy Alastair Campbell, the event was held at The Point at Lancashire County Cricket Club’s Old Trafford ground for the first time. "Everyone is aware of the testing economic environment, and the eurozone crisis. "But the quality of the finalists underlines the fact that the north west is a thriving business region despite all that."
MEN business editor Kevin Feddy said: "The winners are shining examples of all that is best about business in the north west. They are dynamic, innovative, growing enterprises with superb vision and are investing for the future to create jobs and prosperity."
